OK....I finally managed to get hold of a Schecter C-7 Hellraiser 7 string.

26.5" scale length, mahogany body, thru-neck, rosewood fingerboard, Grover tuners and active EMG 707's as stock. Sexy! You can pick these things up for around Â£500 here, though a mate bought this over from New Zealand for me. For the price they're pretty amazing value and play and sound great. Don't come with trems as stock but Schecter can fit them for an additional charge. If you're considering getting a quality 7 string for a reasonable price definately check out the Schecter range:

looks pretty good. whats the build quality, action and intonation like? and what are you tuned to? does it hold low tunings well?
