So, now it's been a fair few months how does everyone feel about 'Shadows...'?

I just listened to it recently after a bit of a break and found I enjoyed it even more after a bit of time away from it. Really crushing and powerful, and you can't get away from the catchiness of the vocals. :twisted:

After a long break from it, by which point I could listen to it without going into it with extremely high expectations of it surpassing all human endeavour and proceeding in leading me to the promised land where there will be cake and beer, I gave it a spin, and I'm still blown away by the scale of it all.

The ending of Thrown Upon The Waves is amazing.

Upon retrospect, it hasn't had the same effect on me that WBTV did, but I find it a much more refined and perfected album than WBTV was.

I will return to this topic in the near future.

I haven't played the album for nearly 2 months now - I vowed not to play it again until the house purchase I'm involved in goes through. It will be my way of celebrating if and when it happens

My opinion of it hasn't changed much - it's by far the best metal release of 2007.

Personally, I still think Lionel Ritchie's early stuff pisses all over it!
