Ok, dont know if this will apply to a lot of you (in fact, how fucking many of you read fantasy novels?)

Anyway, I started reading Ghost King, from the Siptrassi omnibus. I'm about 20 pages into it, and the god Mithras has been mentioned about five thousand times.


And in Shadowmancer (something I just couldnt read very well) one of the characters is sent to pick herbs (for reasons we wont go into) and he then "left a penny for the Green Man"

Anyone else found any Mithras mentionings in literature/whatever?

yea....they mention it in the da vinci code......

At the British Museum, in the Roman exibition, there is a figurine of Mithras...

i thought this was going to be like those columns they have in the tabloids, photos of the band members hiding sheepishly under sunglasses and wigs (oh wait, they do that anyway!) with captions like "Rayner Coss coming out of a tutu shop, yesterday."

I was sworn to secrecy, but I saw him coming out of "Goody-two-shoes" in Rugby with a bag under each arm.

yes, ive come across it in my archaeology lesson... Infact we learned about him non stop for about 3/4 weeks
