try peavey predator 7 string too... only 21 frets unfortunately, but very cheap and the only other 7 string ive played that was as nice to play on is ibanez universe. http://www.thomann.de had them very cheap, you could get the one with floyd rose for £180, and the fixed bridge for £120. id recommend getting one from a shop tho, at least you can try it first and make sure its not a crappy one. you'll be best off putting some new pickups in it tho, at least the bridge one. and if you get the fixed bridge one you have to damp the strings where they pass over the bridge and onto the bit where the string ends go, otherwise it feeds back at high volume (just stick a bit of foam under it).

the only good 7 strings ive played on are ibanez and peavey, and i think leon agrees with me on this.

Thanks I'll check that one out, not too worried about it having 22/24 frets. I want this guitar for the low end more than the diddlydiddly treble.

I should prolly get one with a trem arm too, seeing as all my others are fixed bridge.

This is totally unrelated and wont help in any way, but does anyone know what guitars the guys in meshuggah use? i just know that they're 8 stringed.

Qusetion for Lee DC: What 7 string pickup do you recommend to change too as i know very little aboot pickups, especially 7 stringers! Something like an EMG or dimarzio?

i got a dimarzio blaze for the bridge position. the neck position is the original humbucker, which sounds fine anyway so i'll probably leave it. blaze is the same as whats in the universe i believe. i havent tried EMG, but i thought there was a HZ model that i read wasn't very good (can't find it on EMG website now tho - maybe they stopped making it, or they don't sell it on it's own), so i'd get the active 707 if i was you.

Well i tried an Ibanez baritone (was shit basically) and an Ibanez 7 string (was awesome).

Now i have to decide on one of them or a cut price PRS. Ain't life grand?
