Hi there,
some basic tips i could give you are these: -
Set your drum seat height so you can play your kit comfortably, i have my seat so my legs are just slightly further down at the knee than at the hip when my feet are on the pedals.
There are 2 basic ways of playing the bassdrums - 'heel up' and 'heel down'.
All the fast drummers play heel up as far as i know. It basically means your toes and the front of your foot is resting on the bass drum pedal but the heel is raised off the pedal (be it 2mm or 5cm - with me it depends what i'm playing).
Make sure your bass drum pedals are set up properly, a common technique for beginners is to match the pedals (spring tension, pedal board angle, beater distance from drum - some of these may not be adjustable on your pedals) so they feel the same when using the stronger foot (i.e your right) and then this lets you see how much weaker your other foot is.
If you can adjust it, a good distance to have the beaters from the drums is 10-13cm.
A common trick is to play leading with your weaker limbs to strengthen them up (i.e backwards) for part of your practice sessions, this will give you results in no time.
Just try playing double bass at all speeds and work out where you need improvement, and remember practice makes perfect! Hope thats of some help.
