So who's taking the plunge and getting a PS3 on launch date??

Last time I bought a console on launch date was a PS1...

well PS3 has been out over here since last november, i went on the launch date 16 hours before it was released (at walmart which did a midnight launch so really almost 24 hours before most stores got them) and all the lines were already packed, at like every store around.

by january you started seeing them in stores because every one they got before christmas dissapeared to some mom spoiling her baby kid with one.

so my buddy got one in January. but there really aren't a whole lot of games out for it right now. I'm just waiting to get mine when Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out, and at that time Assassins Creed will be out

Remember how crap the DVD player the PS2 has? The one that never worked, and broke constantly? It's going to be the same on the PS3 with Blu Ray.

It's going to be cheap and unreliable. I'd definitely not buy a PS3 just because its a Blu Ray player that plays games. It's a games console with Blu Ray thrown in, simple as that.
