Yo. For those of you who are interested in Heathenism/Odinism/Asatru, I came across the website of The Odinic Rite (http://www.odinic-rite.org). After watching the NSBM intro, I read their articles and it became very obvious that there was a right-wing agenda here.

Check it out:

http://www.odinic-rite.org/odinicvalues.html

http://www.odinic-rite.org/nowicca.html

http://www.odinic-rite.org/odinist%20nationalism.html

http://www.odinic-rite.org/A%20Womans%20Place.html

Are there any heathens here? What do you make of these "folk"? Is this a case of honest spirituality, or is it simply racist politics subverting religion?

You don't really want to be involved with this lot Leeless. I spend a lot of with Viking-oriented people, re-enactors, amateur historians, heathens... but the Odinic Rite are really a load of shit. They have caused some trouble here and there. What you have to realise is that these guys have a political agenda as well as a religious one. I'm a heathen of sorts, but it's a very personal thing. "Odinism" is not authentic and what the OR are trying to preach does not belong in organised religion or politics.

If you are a heathen Leeless - best piece of advice I can give: Don't look for people to gather with and discuss it. 90% of the time you'll be disappointed and at the end of the day, no-one can tell you what to believe, there is no right or wrong way, no book to set you straight - don't let modern ideas like 'Odinism' convince you otherwise.

Cheers matey. I was picking up some seriously bad energies of these guys. I agree with what you say and a while ago, I realised that every tradition is the same in a way. You need to listen to yourself, and he was saying "Leave well alone!" when it came to the OR.

They are wierdos mate. I could tell you some stories but it's not my place to be defaming them... they can do that on their own. Beware of any religious group that has a manifesto, and agenda and a website  The Asa faith is no exception.
