I've only read a few Judge Dredds so I can't argue with you. I do like them, but I could never comit to buying 2000AD every month/week/whatever. I assume they have various Dredd stories in Book form?

Is Slaine written by a Brit? I love the Celtic mythology in there. And the fact that dwarf's have big floppy ears instead of a beard (the way they should be!)

The only graphic novel I've read (currently reading infact) is The Invisibles.

The Invisibles, I heard of that one! Got a friend in the states who writes for Battlehymn and Hawaiian Dick for Image.

Both of which are worth checking out, if you can find those in graphic novel form.

:P

I have only just learned that Alan Moore is from Northampton! Finally, for the first time in history, the town has added to human culture.

In the same way, Mithras, Rugby and music.

Moore's a god among men. :) I recently re-read Watchmen, actually, still IMO the best damned comic ever.

Toozey: Find and read Watchmen. ;)

It's basically a detective story. Set in an alternate 1980s world which is spiralling towards nuclear war, in a world where "costumed vigilantes" existed for real, but were outlawed in the mid-70s, apart from the few who worked for the government. Note that these are "costumed vigilantes", and not "superheroes". Only one character has any form of special powers.

It's very dark. ;)

It's just a really deep, engrossing story with some very memorable characters.

Sounds quite cool but I'm not sure if I want to get into anymore comics past the Invisibles, it seems like another expensive hobby.

£12.59 from Amazon. It's probably the best comic ever! Go on!
