Hell no.

Devil May Cry is a PS2 game where you play as some rock hard white haired half human/half devil, called Dante, and you go around beating the utter crap out of demons (with beautiful graphics, unlimited ammo, and a shitload of special moves) (the new one isnt very good though...it's ok)

You're thinking of Guilty Gear.
A CLASS fighting game :p

So I am. I'm not ashamed though. I don't have a console so I wouldn't know my Metal Gear SolHEAD from my San AndreASS.

God I'm clever.

What about Princess Mononoke? Definetly one of the greatest films ever made, ever mind Anime! Same director as Laputa, Spirited Away and so on... And if you've see Mononoke, ever seen Nausicaa Of The Valley Of Wind? Awesome film!

Never got into Anime, but I love Kurosawa films. Ran, Rashomon, Throne of Blood, Kagemusha...

It's Japanese, it's cinema... same difference. :P

Seconded!

What about The Hidden Fortress? Yojimbo? The Seven Samurai? Sanjuro? Kurosawa was a legend, one of the greatest director's of all time. And lets not forget Toshiro Mifune, quite possibly one of the greatest actors of all time. Him and Kurosawa were some team.

I've seen most of these films, and i agree, the team of Kurosawa and Toshiro was fantastic. The Seven Samurai is such a classic, i must dig it out and re watch .

Baron...have you seen Lain? Goes well with the Mithras theme of Transcendence of man.

EDIT:

Saw the legendary "Spirited Away" last week. What an awesome film. Pisses all over anything Disney ever did. Imagine doing work experience in that bath house. "If carlsberg did work experience..."

I was not into anime at first but I slowly grew a liking to it.

I read a lot of graphic novels like Samurai Executioner and Star Wars Manga. Blade of the Immortal is also quite well done!

The only movie I have with manga or anime is Akira on DVD.

There is this place in Kansas City, Missouri called Mo Iikai that sells nothing but anime and manga. So check out http://www.moiikai.com/ sometime. (Nope, still don't know the pound/dollar ratio to that sort of stuff, but they got a ton of ebay.com auctions on there!)

:D

I bought 'Akira' and 'X' the other day. (with house of flying daggers in a 3 for 20 pounds deal in HMV)

And I must say Akira is amazing. The gang fight with the clown bike gang sequence is one of the best things I've seen in ages.

Haven't got into 'X' yet though. Although when I tried to watch it I was half asleep and it doesn't seem the type of film where you'll still be able to follow it if you blink.

I saw "The sea is watching" the other day. Pretty nice film and was scripted by Kurosawa, but never got to make it. Got it along with "Goodbye Lenin" which is good too. My sister bought "House of flying daggers" as well. The members of the house remind me of Rayden from Mortal Kombat. Or the green wanderer.
