Hail unwashed Mithraic hordes!

I'm now in Krakow, Poland recovering from numerous hangovers from Slavic drinking ventures in Warsaw. It was a very cool city to visit and almost humbling when you consider the blood spilt there... everywhere there are plaques on walls saying:

200 people were shot here by the Germans.

The whole fuckin place was bombed to the ground by Hitler after the uprising so everything, even the medieval barbican in the old town has been rebuilt using traditional methods from the rubble and almost looks as if nothing happened. If any of you have been to Camden before, I think I just met its grandfather - there was this market outside an old communist arena which sprawled for miles with cheap merchandise and the aroma of cooking dogs and rats in the chinese food stands. Finding a metalhead in Warsaw is also like looking for a beer in Saudi Arabia - They all live here in Krakow! This place is a medieval city and also a student town so its been very cool to walk around and look at. Anyways we have a rehearsal for a gig we're playing tonight so must be off and will post some cool pics

Blodu Ok Jarna... ya bastards!

Well its our final day here, a lot to tell and very little time. First of all last night's gig was a blast... sure I had to dress all squeaky clean because it was blues but for that amount of free booze I'd wear fucking pink! (Boo! Sellout!)

Anyways got 4 hours sleep... and then I took a journey with Dave, the harmonica player in the band to Auschwitz... which was one of the most shocking experiences of my life. I stood in complete shock, and wanted to cry but i couldnt... I took plenty of pictures so I'll get em posted as soon as they're developed.

Met a lot of cool local metalheads in Krakow, they showed me a shop where I was able to pick up some cool shit for very little money. My Purchases:

Intestine Baalism - An Anatomy of the Beast (V. Cool Japanese Melodic Death band, out on Repulse Records)

Coroner - No More Color

Kat - A Polish band (NOT the Great Kat), the cover looked cool so i thought I'd give it a try.

A Testament video which ive spent a lifetime looking for, "Seen Between the Lines"

And a cool shirt which says "Milicja" (Polish for Militia)

Gotta run... our last gig and then we're flying off at 5 AM. Goddamn.

BTW - Lycanthropy... Why is it you're making a visit here too?

Going to Berlin, then two days later, Krakow, Auschwitz, then Warsaw (2 days).

Well not sure about Lycanthropy but I did... not like it was my choice though. Besides, if I hadnt experienced the world of snobby asshole public schoolers then I never would have started listening to metal :D

No, not at all. 8)

Honestly, I'm in the sixth form of a normal school at the moment, I'm not especially rich, we live in quite a small house, but I save up and work so I can afford things like these trips. 8)

Have fun with that, man. The only reason I'm not taking a Gap year next September (IE, 2005) is because of those FUCKING topup fees. I avoid them if I go straight to Uni. It's a fucking gyp. Blasted government.

So I don't have a choice about them whether I take a gap year or not?
