Does anyone know the deal with the Berzerker guitar-speed wise? My friend told me that he watched the DVD and that the main guy made the other players downpick riffs that any other guitar player would normally alternate pick. he said something about theyre were downpicking 16ths at some ridiculous tempo above 200??? i dont even think this is possible?

All i know is it's very fast and they did specifically go for the fastest downpicking they could

well if you watch the DVD the poor guy playing is getting fairly knackered like.
listening to 200bpm on my metronome it sounds do-able if you locked yourself in your room for a few months and pushed yourself to the absoloute limit. it's still pretty nuts though.

I imagine you'd beat everyone at olympic gold for the megadrive once you'd mastered this technique.

If i understand this correctly, I'd say it's unlikely that anyones going to be doing downpicks quite that fast - adding the upstroke would be the same as alternate picking 16ths to a 400bpm blastbeat, considering their fastest song is around 340bpm with alternate 16th note picked parts, i'd say it's almost impossible that someone could go all the way up to 400bpm.

I heard from someone who has the dvd that the song in question was about 320bpm, i've alternate picked that fast in the past with 16ths, but hats off to anyone who can just do the 8th note downpicks at that speed, that's incredible control of the pick.

good christ, 320 is insane. which Berzerker song is 340 bpm? i find it hard to imagine someone cleanly executing 4 notes on each click at 340. I'm still stuck at like 275.
