I've been listening to this on and off all day. Sounds like a true return to form and harks back to the thrash/speed days. Mustaine hints that this could be the last Megadeth album to be released before he moves on to his solo career full-time. He tried to reassemble the Rust In Peace lineup but Marty Friedman has turned into a techno-head and isn't interested.
Chris Poland (Megadeth's first lead guitarist) helped Mustaine in the studio and played lead parts on the new album but the bass player and drummer are session musicians. Poland is not a full-time member of Megadeth he merely helped-out.
I hope the rest of the album is as good as 'Kick The Chair' coz it shreds. It may even give Rust In Peace a run for it's money. It's kinda sad though if it's Megadeth's last; even if Mustaine's solo stuff is similar. It just goes to show what he's capable of when he feels like it.
