Right, time for some tentative 'news' about what we're planning. For years people have been asking us where they can get the old material; why we didn't do a repress of the demo releases, whether we've got demo recordings of songs no one has heard, whether there's unreleased songs no one has heard, whether 'Gods Among Men' is as rumour would have it, a complete album which we only partly released, whether I really did record a guitar solo when on the top of a mountain... We also get asked a lot about any video footage of Mithras, whether live or studio related, or even rehearsal based, where it can be found, why isn't it on youtube etc. As this year is the 10th year anniversary of the band we figured it'd be a good time to finally answer all these queries in a fell swoop with our next release. Great news! Looking forward to it. Whether it be some "revamped" old material or "as is" recordings, it will be brilliant and "new" to most of us. Video footage will be awesome. I'm pretty excited regardless of what you release next. And how about some videos of Rayner in the ring

Re the release: Atm I'm still agonising over what to include and what to leave out. We're planning it to be a cd / dvd release, and the working title is simply "Sands Of Time" atm. CD: Most of our "unreleased" material, the original demos / recordings and the rerecordings we did of the Imperator material in 2003, remixed. DVD: There's footage from a few shows we've played, one notably better than the others with a full 45 minute set from when we played in Coventry in 2003, with pretty decent sound and vision - this will probably make up the main part of the DVD. Bar this we've got about 6 hours of video material to sift through, but admittedly most of it is senseless clowning around  There's studio material from the first two records, a few rehearsals with various members (some more usable than others), some misc stuff in various places, and I'm thinking of maybe filming some extra guitar and maybe even drum stuff for it specifically. We'll also put on the audio which won't fit into the cd, and some other bits and bobs - a face to face video interview with Rayner and myself. What does everyone think to that? |

It all sounds very interesting! All of us in here will buy it because we are big fans of the band, but it seems like this will be a CD that only the big fans of the band will be interested in, so as many new things you can cram on there I think would make it more appealing to other people. Filming some new stuff would be good, the rehersal you put on the myspace sounded great, so it would be good to see what was going on there as well.. "Sands Of Time" seems like a fitting title seeing as it is a release looking back through time and everything.. Yeh, can't wait to see it all together! |
